Features

Currently, FlexiPublish has a core set of features that will satisfy the vast majority of websites.

  • There is a «General Content» module that allows the writing of articles such as this – of course sporting a WYSIWYG editor.

  • Sharing photos is easy and elegant with the incorporated «Photo Galleries» module. This module is integrated with the WYSIWYG editor mentioned above. Any photo used in a photo gallery can be used in any article.

  • A pluggable authentication (login) module makes sure you can log in using any available login mechanism available on earth and beyond. Sure – you might have to write a small piece of code to talk to your authentication backend, but it's made as easy as it gets. FlexiPublish comes with a local authentication plugin that works out of the box.

  • A pluggable group management module takes care of all your grouping needs. Use local groups stored in the FlexiPublish database (this is what the default group management module does), or get your groups and manage them from other systems.
  • Authorization is group based, and uses the group management module that happens to be installed.
  • Why bother having lots of content if you can't find it? FlexiPublish features a super fast sitewide search. It's not crawler based, instead, it goes straight to the database and thus only searches the important content.

  • Navigation and menus are made simple with FlexiPublish. You have complete freedom to set up the kind of navigation you wish for your website, making it easy and logical for your visitors.

  • Standard navigation menus are supplied with a breadcrumb menu that shows visitors exactly where they are anytime and lets them skip backwards and upwards easily and logically.

  • No more complicated URLs. FlexiPublish gives you the possibility to create URLs that are easily readable by humans.

  • Need to communicate in many languages? FlexiPublish was built thinking of this. The entire interface is supported by language files, and all modules that allow user input are prepared for multi-lingual input.

  • Behind the scenes, FlexiPublish sports an advanced template engine with capabilities far beyond simple templating. It does secure caching for super fast access to frequently visited pages, automatically includes javascript and cascading stylesheets on a per module basis and is crucial in supporting the FlexiPublish multi-language capabilities.

Technically, FlexiPublish has many other interesting features that are better off discussed in other fora.
